- Charging circuit check: Clean terminals and cables Pass / Fail ___ / __x_ Charge and load test battery _x__ / ___ Test alternator output _x__ / ___ Inspect belt tension Draw Test: Hook up voltage monitor and allow vehicle to enter "sleep mode" Monitor draw on battery during sleep. If draw is present identify source of drain by removing fuse until draw disappears – Inspected battery – Found negative battery clamp loose. Removed negative battery cable, Cleaned, and reinstalled Charged battery and perform battery test. Battery is rated @ 690 cca – Tests @ 419 cca – Failed test Battery is fully charged with a state of health of 60% – Draw test indicates no draw on battery at this time. – Recommend remove and replace battery with new.
- Removed the front wheelhouse liner and necessary front fender support bracket to gain access to the battery. Disconnected the negative and positive battery cables, removed the battery hold-down, and carefully removed the battery from the vehicle. Installed the replacement battery, secured it with the hold-down bracket, and reinstalled the fender support bracket and wheelhouse liner. Reconnected the battery cables, verified proper battery installation and cable security, and confirmed normal starting and charging system operation following the repair.
